Fonts downloadable from this site

These four fonts by AnonMoos can be downloaded in Zip-file archive form by clicking on the text links. Use PKZIP-compatible software to uncompress the individual files from a downloaded archive (or click on the Zip archive to view it directly as a file folder in recent disk-browser software), and use the standard procedures in your operating system to install the font files. In MS-Windows, the easiest way to install the font is generally to copy the TrueType font file from the opened Zip archive to the system Fonts folder (accessible under the "Settings" or "Control Panel" options in the Start menu). The first two fonts may be freely redistributed if all the individual files for each font are kept together and distributed unaltered, the third font is in the public domain, while the fourth font is licensed under the SIL Open Font Licence.

  1. [Tengwar Elfetica font glyphs] Download a compressed ZIP archive file (size 24k) containing the "Tengwar Elfetica" font, a simple sans-serif font for writing the characters of J.R.R. Tolkien's Tengwar writing system. This is a revised version of the original "Elfetica" font by Ronald Kyrmse. See the file TengwarElfetica.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive. For further explanations, references, and links on Tengwar and Tengwar fonts, see the main Tengwar Arabic Mode page.
  2. [Gorean and pseudo-Gorean symbols font glyphs including Kajira Kef, Roissy Triskelion, Nadu hand-sign gesture, Dina, and historical Chinese character U5974 奴] Download a compressed ZIP archive file (size 129k) containing the Gorean (and pseudo-Gorean) symbols font, a "dingbat" font which includes visual interpretations or artistic depictions of various symbols described verbally in John Norman's series of Gor novels, as well as other symbols possibly of interest to Gor fans. See the file GoreanBrandsSymbols.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive.
    Selective release history:
    1/29/06
    Initial version
    6/8/06 (v 1.2):
Nine new symbols were added to the font (though only two are somewhat strictly "Gorean"), tweaking of several existing characters, and a small file in RTF format was added to the documentation (for convenient viewing of symbol characters at a large size).
    11/4/06 (v 2.0):
Seven new symbols were added, technical cleanup of a number of character outlines with FontForge, improvement of other characters (including the main "Kef" symbols), and technical changes to the TrueType font (to allow broader usability and compatibility, and slightly improve the shape accuracy of many characters).
    8/14/08 (v 3.3):
Sixty-one new symbols or symbol variants were added, most existing chain characters were improved, the main "Kef" symbols were increased in size and slightly bolded, and starting with version 3.1 a different TrueType-producing algorithm was used, resulting in more curve points (and less automatically-generated hinting data of questionable quality).
    4/25/09 (v 3.5):
Twelve symbols were split off into a separate font (see #4 below), fifteen new symbols were added, and tweaking of several existing characters.

  3. [Ownership icon font glyphs] Download a small compressed ZIP archive file (size 7k) containing the Ownership icons and flag font (version 1.002 of 7/19/07), a "dingbat" font which includes basic versions of the Tanos ownership icons (note that various elaborated and combined versions of these icons are included in the Quasi-Gorean symbols font above). See the file OwnershipIconsFlag.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive.
  4. [Goddess symbol font glyphs] Download a compressed ZIP archive file (size 38k) containing a preliminary version of the Goddess symbols font, a "dingbat" font which includes abstract fontified versions of a number of quasi-traditional Goddess symbols or variants. See the file GoddessSymbols.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive.

Each font is in both TrueType and PostScript Type 1 formats for Microsoft Windows. The files for at least one font format should be able to be used directly (or fairly easily converted for use) in most modern operating systems.

Symbol graphics included in the fonts must be in a fairly abstract visual form, due to the limitations of standard font formats (which only allow for specifying shapes in an undetermined foreground color and an undetermined background color).
